On this Tuesday morning June 11, 2019, I greet you with good news from the word of God in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I have been thinking about why sometimes we do not receive God’s best.
I totally understand that this is different for all of us.
God deals with us all on an individual basis.
As a believer for over 30 years, I’ve seen God move mountains out of the way instantly. There’s been times where I’ve seen the situation being resolved in a different way. What I mean by this is that sometimes our foot is on the hose, so to speak.
I believe that part of it is as believers is that we are not walking in the fullness of the love of God towards others.
1 Corinthians 13 English Standard Version (ESV)
The Way of Love
13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[b] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
When you look at love from the word of God, you must understand that this is one of the fruits of the spirit. In addition to love being a fruit of the spirit, faith is a fruit of the spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23 King James Version (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
So apparently according to the word of God, you need all these fruits to work in our lives if we are to receive from God.
When you look at our lives as believers, we have to ask ourselves how do we react in certain situations where were tempted to get upset or situations that are not comfortable for us.
When we have a job that we go to every day and we deal with a lot of different people, were going to be tempted sometimes and act in a way that might not be pleasing to God.
Therefore it’s important to walk in the renewed mine on a daily basis and we need to put the word of God into our mind and act accordingly. Romans 12 – 2.
