I’m Tired of Getting High — Finding Hope and Healing in Addiction Recovery

March 20, 2025September 7, 2025

I’m Just Tired

Tired of waking up every day with that same sick, empty feeling.
Tired of chasing a high that never lasts.
Tired of lying to the people I love… tired of lying to myself.

Person sitting in despair on a couch with an open Bible nearby, symbolizing hope and faith during addiction recovery.

My name doesn’t matter right now.
What matters is that maybe you feel the same way I’ve been feeling—like your life is falling apart and you don’t know how to fix it.

I’ve tried to quit drugs more times than I can count.
Opioids. Pills. Meth. Cocaine.
Sometimes I’d make it a few days. Once, I even made it a few weeks.
But every time something happened—stress, loneliness, guilt, shame—I’d run right back to it.
And every time I used again, it took a bigger piece of me.

And Now?

Now, my life is in shambles.
My family barely speaks to me.
I look in the mirror and hardly recognize the person staring back.

I keep asking myself:

  • “Why can’t I stop?”

  • “Is something wrong with me?”

  • “Does anyone care if I even make it?”

But the scariest thought of all?

“Maybe I’m just too far gone.”

What to Do When You’re Sick and Tired of Getting High

If you’re reading this and you feel like giving up, hear me:
Don’t.

There’s still hope.
There’s still a way out.
I’m not going to throw a bunch of programs or clichés at you.
I’m just going to tell you what’s been rising up in my spirit:

Try God.

Seriously.
You’ve tried everything else.
You’ve tried willpower. You’ve tried rehab. You’ve tried hiding it. You’ve tried pretending.

But God…
He sees it all.
And still, He says:

“I have loved thee with an everlasting love…” – Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)

God isn’t waiting to punish you.
He’s waiting to heal you, restore you, and help you break free—for good.
Even if you feel too dirty. Too broken. Too messed up.
He’s not intimidated by your addiction.
He’s already made a way through.

You’re Not Alone – And You’re Not Hopeless

Recovery is more than just getting clean.
It’s learning how to live again.
Learning how to deal with grief, loss, regret, shame…
All the things you’ve been numbing.

It’s not easy, but you don’t have to do it alone.

If you’ve ever searched:

  • “How do I stop using drugs and never go back?”

  • “Christian help for addiction recovery”

  • “What to do when you keep relapsing on meth or opioids”

  • “Is there hope for someone like me?”

Then let me say this from my heart to yours:

Yes, there’s hope. Yes, there’s healing. And yes—God still has a plan for your life.
