his is my journal for November 19, 2025.
Today I’m thankful for the Word of God and for what it stands for. As I apply it to my life, my life will be forever changed, just like it was from the first day I came to know my precious Heavenly Father. This short seeing people through God’s eyes devotional comes out of that thankfulness.
Today I want to be a man who stands on the Word of God and walks in the power of God. I want to walk in the love of God in every trial that may come my way, and in every temptation, and in every conversation.
Let every conversation be filled with Your presence and Your love. Let there be no criticism and no negative talking about anybody. Help me to meet people right where they’re at. And as I do that, help me to see people in a different way—through Your eyes, not mine.
Today I take my stand on the Word of God. I love You, Heavenly Father. I bless this day in Jesus’ name, and I’m honored to be Your son. I love You.
Amen.
Without Love, I Am Nothing
There’s a simple but powerful truth that keeps echoing in my heart:
Without love, I am nothing.
The Bible says it this way:
“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:2, KJV
The Message puts it like this:
“If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, ‘Jump,’ and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:2, The Message
I can know the Word, quote the Word, and even teach the Word. But if my conversations are filled with criticism, negativity, or tearing others down, I’ve missed the heart of God.
Love is not just a feeling. It’s how I talk about people when they’re not in the room. It’s how I respond when I’m frustrated, tempted, or disappointed. It’s how I choose to see people—not through my irritation, but through God’s eyes.
Seeing People Through God’s Eyes
When I pray, “Let every conversation be filled with Your presence and Your love,” I’m asking God for more than nicer words. I’m asking Him to change how I see people.
-
No criticism.
-
No negative talking about others.
-
Meeting people right where they’re at.
When I do that, I start to see people differently. I see their pain, not just their behavior. I see their potential, not just their problems. I see them as sons and daughters that God deeply loves.
That’s the kind of person I want to be today—a man who stands on the Word of God, walks in the power of God, and sees people through the eyes of God. This is what it means, for me, to live out this seeing people through God’s eyes devotional in real life.
If you want to go deeper with this, you can read all of 1 Corinthians 13 in your Bible or on an online Bible site and let every verse speak to your heart.
How This Applies to Everyday Life
This isn’t just a nice spiritual idea. It touches regular, everyday moments:
-
When someone cuts me off in traffic.
-
When a coworker is short or rude.
-
When a family member is distant, moody, or hard to talk to.
-
When I’m tired and my first reaction is to complain or criticize.
In those moments, I have a choice. I can react from my flesh, or I can pause and ask, “Lord, help me see this person through Your eyes.” When I make that choice, the atmosphere changes—inside me first, and often in the relationship too.
This kind of love doesn’t mean I ignore sin or pretend everything is fine. It means I respond with truth and grace. It means I don’t forget that Jesus also died for the person in front of me.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your Word and for what it stands for. Thank You that as I apply it to my life, I am forever changed. Help me today to stand on Your Word and to walk in Your power and in Your love.
Let every trial, every temptation, and every conversation be filled with Your presence and love. Let there be no criticism and no negative talk about anyone. Help me to meet people right where they are and to see them through Your eyes.
Without love, I am nothing.
Teach me to love like You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
