Speaking to your problem – August 19, 2018

Good day to you, on this Sunday, August 19, 2018. Today many of you may be struggling with different needs in your life. Some of you, may be facing financial difficulties and situations that seem impossible to you. However, I know that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Today you have a choice, of being positive or negative regarding your situation. There is power in her words, as it says in Proverbs 18 – 21, death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall be the fruit thereof.

Today we have a choice of the words that we say. Sometimes we have to ask ourselves, why do we say negative things. A lot of times there are a lot of negative issues that we haven’t dealt with and our mind and our heart has accepted the lie in our heart. Many times we’ve been told we are no good and will never amount to anything. However, God has a better plan for life. We don’t have to accept those lies. We are beautiful, we are the sons and daughters of God and we can be successful. This only comes through a relationship with the father through Jesus Christ.

I believe we have to watch our words when we talk about our aches and pains. We think they will last forever so we say, “I will never get over this.” These words are powerful because they leave no room for God to heal and restore. When we believe that we will not get better, it becomes like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Let me share a personal example. I always have trouble with my sinuses in the fall and the spring. I will usually be in bed for several days. In saying this, I leave no room for God to protect or to even heal me. I own it. My grandmother had some very serious surgeries in her lifetime and she would always say, “I will be home in a few days and I will get over it.” Do you know what happened each time? She recovered quickly and was home.

We have to learn to watch our words. I am not suggesting when you have the full-blown flu that you come to church and tell everyone you are healed. But you can rest in bed and believe that you will recover quicker than most people because you serve a God who heals. Give God room to work in your life. Believe that He can heal you.

We have to learn to watch our words as we speak to and about each other. We have to remember what is said when a person is not present is heard by our Father in Heaven. That should make us all stop and think. The words we say to each other have profound and long-lasting effects. As a society, we are quick to tear each other down and we fail to build each other up. We should be using our words to encourage and strengthen each other as we endeavor to live out our Christian faith.

With the power of the tongue we can create or we can destroy.

Today, I would challenge you to watch the words that you say. I’m not saying that you don’t have to be honest. However, what I’m saying to you is, that we need to deny the fact that the problem that we are experiencing, has no authority to be in our lives. We need to speak to our problems and tell our problems held the God is. Speak Scriptures to your problem and you’ll see God move in mightily in your life like you never ever have before
